In order to understand priesthood, we must realize we have existed forever, space is endless, and there is an infinite number of gods in space. It’s all organized to some degree, but it’s also going through process and change.
The one big stumbling block in the world today is people do not understand resurrection. They do not realize that every form of resurrection of flesh is reincarnation by definition.
If people don’t understand that and won’t base their thinking, they can never understand the Melchizedek priesthood. It says that Melchizedek was made like unto the Son of God. In other words, he was foreordained to become a Christ. Since Noah would have been the one to give him this ordinance, it would show that Noah was going to become an Adam. We find in the writings of Joseph Smith where Noah was ordained god and given the oportunity to offer his own son as a sacrifice, much as Christ was offered as a sacrifice. Christ was with Adam in the preexistence much like Melchizedek was in his lifetime.
(…) Hence, the Melchizedek Priesthood or the Priesthood of the Son of God was exactly the same and could be used interchangeably.
